Good news - I actually was able to semi-energetically get right into the painting studio and do another jumping painting. And I really like the result.
Bad news - it's too dark outside to photograph it. Pooh. Looks like I might always be posting the day after the fact.

ReplyDeleteI'm a giant word nerd so of course I had to go look that up, since I realized that it's a phrase I use but am not clear about. (I hate using words I don't truly understand!)

"Bated breath" has been around a long time. Here's the first cite in the Oxford English Dictionary: "1596 Shakespeare, Merchant of Venice i. iii. 125 'With bated breath, and whispring humblenesse.'"
