Different Strokes Year-end Challenge

This is the second year I've participated in the "Different Strokes for Different Folks" year-end challenge. It's just so much fun to see how all the artists interpret each other. Karin Jurick, amazing artist, generously coordinates the exchange of photographs. I immediately recognized the photo I was given as a lovely and sweet woman in a painting group I'm part of here in Austin. So the pressure was a bit extra. I don't think I've made this look as beautiful as she is, but I think I've created a fun and lively painting. I hope she likes it!

  1. I love the bright and bold look of this painting. If your painting pal is bubbly and full of life, I think you've captured her perfectly!

  2. Definitely bold and lively! The eyes and smile convey a lot. You paint with the colors I mean to use all the time. I'm going to resolve to use more Kate Colors in the new year!
